A survey of Fadaee Mazandarani's sad poem style of poetry

Abstract

The style is a particular way of understanding and expressing thought with combining and choosing words is a special way of interpretation. The study of style in Persian poetry is named and categorized with subjects and various ways based on language, historical period, author"s attitude and the subject of the works. Mirza Mahmood Telavaki Mazandarani with the fame of Fadaee (1822-1742) is one of the famous elegy tellers of Ashora in the era of Qajar and the movement of literary recurrence. Fadaee in his longest poem tried to show his perception about the Ashura events and all the great works of Imam Hossein(AS) , his family and his companions. In this study Fadaee"s sad poem is analyzed in two levels of language (phonological, lexical, syntactic) and literary (metaphor, metonymy, simile). The result of this study shows that, Fadaee tried to use words and Arabic combinations which are suitable for composing sad poems. The frequency of music (outer, side, inner and spiritual) in his poetry is 2563 cases that show great attention of Fadaee to language level. In literary level he used 587case of simile, 358plus simile case and 326 diagnostic metaphor cases for showing his attention to simile and metaphor in describing the Karbala event.
